Kaosenlared Leo, who after nearly a year of discussion and consensus, in charge of a Tzotzil Indian woman, Susan, charge to tour the communities and talking to women, the Indigenous Revolutionary Clandestine Committee (CCRI) passed the Revolutionary Women March 1993:

Revolutionary Law of Women:

First Women, regardless of race, creed, color or political affiliation, are entitled to participate in the revolutionary struggle in the place and grade to determine their willingness and ability.

Second Women have the right to work and receive a fair wage.

Third Women have the right to decide the number of children they have and care.

Fourth Women have right to participate in community affairs and to hold office if elected freely and democratically.

Fifth women and their children are entitled to primary health and nutrition.

Sixth Women have the right to education.

Seventh: Women have the right to choose their partner and not be compelled by force to marry.

Eighth No woman may be beaten or physically mistreated or by relatives or strangers. The crime of attempted rape or rape will be punished severely.

Ninth Women may hold positions of leadership in the organization and hold military ranks in the revolutionary armed forces.

Tenth: Women will have all the rights and obligations contained in the revolutionary laws and regulations.
